Blue-Topped Baked Pears
Ingredients:
¼ cup crumbled Statesboro Blue Cheese
2 ripe but firm pears (like Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons honey (plus more for drizzling)
Fresh thyme leaves
Olive oil or melted butter, for brushing
Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice pears in half and scoop out the core with a spoon or melon baller. Place cut-side up in a baking dish. Lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil or melted butter.
In each pear cavity, add crumbled Statesboro Blue Cheese, a sprinkle of chopped walnuts, and a few thyme leaves. Drizzle with a little honey.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is slightly melted.
Drizzle with additional honey and a touch of black pepper if desired. Serve warm.
