Blue-Topped Baked Pears

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup crumbled Statesboro Blue Cheese

  • 2 ripe but firm pears (like Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored

  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts

  • 2 teaspoons honey (plus more for drizzling)

  • Fresh thyme leaves

  • Olive oil or melted butter, for brushing

  • Pinch of black pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Slice pears in half and scoop out the core with a spoon or melon baller. Place cut-side up in a baking dish. Lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil or melted butter.

  3. In each pear cavity, add crumbled Statesboro Blue Cheese, a sprinkle of chopped walnuts, and a few thyme leaves. Drizzle with a little honey.

  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is slightly melted.

  5. Drizzle with additional honey and a touch of black pepper if desired. Serve warm.
